Wiregrass Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luiza Valladares led the charge by getting seven aces and four digs. Those seven aces gave Valladares a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Henderson, who had 17 digs and two assists.
They weren't the only good servers: Wiregrass Ranch was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive matches.
Bloomingdale won the last time they faced Tampa Bay Tech and Ella Izett did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bulls came out on top against the Titans by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Izett, who had 31 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.
Bloomingdale walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 15-25, 25-19, 25-12.
Wiregrass Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Bloomingdale, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Wiregrass Ranch has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Bloomingdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
