Softball Game Preview: Overbrook Rams vs. Penns Grove Red Devils

Overbrook is a perfect 10-0 against Penns Grove since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will host the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Overbrook and nine for Penns Grove.

Gloucester County Tech hit Overbrook with a six-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams came up short against Gloucester County Tech, falling 13-3.

Gianna Simon made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Penns Grove fell victim to Pennsville Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 21-0 to the Eagles.

Penns Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Overbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Overbrook got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Penns Grove by a conclusive 23-0 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
