Recap: Foard Tigers vs. West Iredell Warriors

The Foard Tigers can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 63-54 victory over West Iredell. That's another feather in the cap for Foard, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Foard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Bess out in front who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Graham Orndoff was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.

Foard's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for West Iredell, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will take on the Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Statesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Tigers likes a good challenge. As for West Iredell, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully East Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
