Softball Recap: Grant Beats Alexandria for Their Third Straight Win

Grant waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alexandria Trojans a 3-0 shutout. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 6-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Peyton Kirtland made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Audeleigh Carpenter was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Grant's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alexandria, their loss dropped their record down to 25-8.

As of now, neither Grant nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
