Meanwhile, Sierra Vista faced Canyon Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Sierra Vista was the clear victor by a 26-6 margin over Canyon Springs. The Mountain Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Sierra Vista pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points per game. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
