Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mt. Pleasant was the 54-39 winner over Gilroy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 49-35 to the Gilroy Mustangs. The match marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mt. Pleasant dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gilroy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-12 record.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Evergreen Valley the next time they take the court. Mt. Pleasant will host Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Gilroy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
