League recap: Norwalk extends winning streak with victory over Delta

Northern Ohio recap Sept. 26, 2012

Norwalk extended the longest winning streak in Northern Ohio this week by beating Delta, 46-25. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Truckers.

Willard moved up to 479 from 520 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Crimson Flashes were able to make the jump by beating Fairbanks 26-13.

Shelby's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lukas Ousley threw for 91 and two touchdowns and Grant Fenner had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Andrew Baird chipped in 139 yards. A.J. Bihl helped Shelby's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.

Shelby's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Whippets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ousley has thrown for 274 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Fenner has seven catches for 129 yards. Baird leads the league in rushing with 578 yards.

A big matchup in Northern Ohio this week will be when Columbian takes on Bellevue. The Tornadoes are currently in second, while the Redmen are in third.

Bellevue took down Waite 53-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
