Central Rivers (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012

Chilhowee's Alex Smith recorded the longest rushing play in Central Rivers (8 Man) this season in his game against Norborne last week. Smith's team defeated the Pirates as he sprinted for 56 yards on the play and finished with 66 in all.

Chilhowee was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, Gary Ligon's team defeated Norborne 32-14.

Chilhowee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Colter Armstrong has thrown for 625 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Josiah Carr has eight catches for 216 yards. Armstrong also leads the league in rushing with 411 yards.

The marquee game in Central Rivers (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Indians and Hardin-Central. Chilhowee enters the contest ranked 15th in the state, while the Bulldogs ranks ninth.

The Indians made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,012 from 1,084. The improvement came about via a 32-14 victory over Probasco's team last week.
