Basketball Recap: Nardin Academy Takes a Loss

Nardin Academy lost against Cardinal O'Hara back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Nardin Academy Gators were dealt a 75-47 loss at the hands of the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Hawks are ranked 29th).

When it comes to explaining why Nardin Academy lost, don't look at Kara Krupski. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 11 en route to 28 points. Those 28 points gave Krupski a new career-high. Maeve Cavanaugh was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Kyla Hayes was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 41 points and ten rebounds for Cardinal O'Hara. Hayes has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ny'Ema Blair, who posted nine points along with six assists and five steals.

Nardin Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Cardinal O'Hara, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7.

Nardin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-42 defeat against Orchard Park on the 30th. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-37 victory against Nichols on the 30th.
