Softball Game Preview: Cumberland Dukes vs. Buckingham Knights

Cumberland is 0-10 against Buckingham since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Dukes will face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cumberland is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lunenburg Central.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Buckingham's offense. They fell just short of Lunenburg Central by a score of 1-0 on Monday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Knights haven't been shut out since back in April.

Buckingham's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Cumberland might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Buckingham in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Dukes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
