Basketball Recap: Pine Tree Academy Comes Up Short

Pine Tree Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 55-34 to the Newbury Park Adventist Gators. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Breakers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 83rd in Maine, while the Gators are ranked 727th in California).

Pine Tree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Newbury Park Adventist, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Tree Academy will head out to face off against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newbury Park Adventist, they will head out on the road to take on Hillcrest Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
