Football Game Preview: Northern Bedford County Panthers vs. North Star Cougars + How To Watch

Northern Bedford County is on a four-game streak of home losses, and North Star a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Northern Bedford County Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Star Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Northern Bedford County and Meyersdale, and Meyersdale kept the tradition alive. The Panthers were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 19-18 to the Red Raiders.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ben Clark, who rushed for 145 yards and one score. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Bowers, who picked up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Star). They blew past Hancock, posting a 42-6 win. The Cougars' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

North Star's win came from a few key players Northern Bedford County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lincoln Paulin, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only five carries. Kasey Yoder was another key player, rushing for 68 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Star was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Northern Bedford County's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Star, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
