Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Red Bay's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Red Bay won the last time they faced Belmont, and Khalil Luster did his part to make sure it happened again. The Red Bay Tigers walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Belmont Cardinals on Tuesday thanks in part to Luster, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played.

Red Bay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Belmont, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Red Bay will take on Humboldt in a tournament on Friday. Humboldt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Red Bay likes a good challenge. As for Belmont, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Belmont Cardinals challenge the Nettleton Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
