Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Eaglecrest Raptors
On Thursday, the Fruita Monument Wildcats faced the Eaglecrest Raptors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fruita Monument took down Eaglecrest 51-36. Fruita Monument's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Addison Eyre was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cambelle Brammer, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Several Raptors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shyann Farbes, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The game was Farbes' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Fruita Monument's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Eaglecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Fruita Monument won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ponderosa at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Ponderosa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Fruita Monument is ranked eighth). Eaglecrest is on the road again on Friday and play against Castle View at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Castle View is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
