Softball Preview: Sierra Stallions vs. The Classical Academy Titans

Sierra has been away from home for three games now, but on Tuesday they'll finally make their return. They will host The Classical Academy Titans at 4:00 p.m.

Sierra came up short against Widefield on Saturday, falling 16-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Gladiators: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, The Classical Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mullen on Saturday. The Classical Academy came out on top against Mullen by a score of 12-7.

Ada Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up seven earned runs off seven hits. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, The Classical Academy let Khaiyah Bacon and Asher Murphy loose on the outfield. Bacon scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Murphy went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a double. That's the most hits Murphy has posted since back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyne Cramer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Classical Academy didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 14 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mullen only tossed four.

Sierra now has a losing record at 4-5. As for The Classical Academy, the win also got them back to even at 4-4.
