Baseball Recap: Crowley County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rocky Ford on Tuesday, Crowley County came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the Las Animas Trojans by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Crowley County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Crowley County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Las Animas, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Crowley County beat the Trojans by a score of 6-4 later that day.
