Baseball Game Preview: Halifax Academy Vikings vs. Brunswick Academy Vikings

Halifax Academy will challenge Brunswick Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Halifax Academy, who comes in off a win.

Halifax Academy is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over Ridgecroft. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.

William Hudomint was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Luke Cournoyer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double.

Halifax Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Brunswick Academy lost 17-6 to Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association on Tuesday.

Brunswick Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Newsome, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Newsome a new career-high in hits (two).

Halifax Academy skirted past Brunswick Academy 6-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will Halifax Academy repeat their success, or does Brunswick Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
