Basketball Recap: Jaxon Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Llano over Ingram Moore

Llano was the 58-34 winner over Ingram Moore when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Llano Yellowjackets fell 48-37 to the Ingram Moore Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1525th, while the Warriors are ranked 707th).

Llano lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaxon Johnson, who posted nine points. Johnson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carl Schutte, who earned seven points.

Llano's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-28. As for Ingram Moore, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.

Llano has already played their next contest (against Florence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ingram Moore will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Comfort at 7:30 p.m. Comfort knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Ingram Moore likes a good challenge.
