Soccer Recap: Providence Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to seven goals the game before, Providence Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 4-1 to the Sturgeon Bay Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Sturgeon Bay this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Providence Academy's goal came courtesy of Reuben Sauder, which was the first he's scored this season.

The defeat snapped Providence Academy's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-8-4 record. As for Sturgeon Bay, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3-2.

Looking ahead, Providence Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Kenosha Christian Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Providence Academy's defense better be ready for this one: Kenosha Christian Life have averaged an impressive 2.7 goals per game this season. As for Sturgeon Bay, they will head out to square off against Seymour at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
