Baseball Recap: Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Comes Up Short

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coral Gables Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stallions of the 12-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Willie Iglesias was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cole Cutrer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Coral Gables, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) will welcome Ransom Everglades at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coral Gables, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Tocoi Creek at 3:30 p.m.
