Softball Recap: Twin Valley Falls Short of West Allegheny in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Twin Valley can now relate to. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Allegheny Indians on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Raiders have let down their home crowd.

Erin Cromwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Twin Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Herbst, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Another was Hailie Barton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Twin Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for West Allegheny, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

As of now, neither Twin Valley nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
