Softball Recap: Mercersburg Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mercersburg Academy can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Peddie Falcons with a sharp 17-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emily Guzic and Adi Rinker did most of the damage at the plate: Guzic went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Rinker went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Rinker has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kamden Jenkins, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mercersburg Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mercersburg Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Peddie, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Mercersburg Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
