Menchville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 41-21 to the Woodside Wolverines. On the bright side, the 21- point performance marked the Monarchs' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Woodside, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Daniel Young had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 162 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 110.5 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Foye, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Menchville will look to defend their home field on October 3 against Warwick at 7:00 p.m. The Raiders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Woodside, they will head out on the road to square off against Kecoughtan at 12:00 p.m. on October 4. The Wolverines will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
