Volleyball Game Preview: Los Amigos Lobos vs. Western Pioneers

The Los Amigos Lobos will challenge the Western Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Los Amigos took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Orange, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lobos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Lobos' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Los Amigos took Orange into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13.

Western extended their winning streak to 19 games thanks to a huge performance from Nathaniel Dumangas. The Pioneers came out on top against Rancho Alamitos by a score of 3-1 on Friday for which the team can thank Dumangas, who had 23 assists and 15 digs. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last six games he's played.

While Western might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Rancho Alamitos scored at least 22 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 28-26, 25-22.

Western pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Los Amigos, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.
