Basketball Recap: Whiteland Takes a Loss

Whiteland lost against Seymour back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Whiteland Warriors fell 62-53 to the Seymour Owls.

Despite the loss, Whiteland still got an impressive performance from Ethan Edwards, who went 5 of 11 en route to 18 points. That was a full 34% of Whiteland's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Spencer Gillespie was another key player, putting up seven points.

Whiteland's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Seymour, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Whiteland will face off against Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whiteland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Seymour, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on February 15th.
