Baseball Recap: Franklin County Wildcats vs. Lawrenceburg Tigers

Franklin County had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 8-11 to make it four. They lost 14-3 to the Lawrenceburg Tigers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Franklin County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kash Marsh, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Lawrenceburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 18-6).

On Lawrenceburg's side, they got a great performance from Caden McCool as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, McCool posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games.

At the plate, Jensen Mulcahey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Lewis, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Lawrenceburg will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Decatur at 5:30 p.m. Franklin County will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers face off against the Chargers, they'll take on Franklin County again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
