Baseball Recap: L.E.A.D. Academy Has No Trouble Against Atmore Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask L.E.A.D. Academy). They put the hurt on the Atmore Christian Rams with a sharp 11-1 victory on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

L.E.A.D. Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silas Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in runs. Royce Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

L.E.A.D. Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atmore Christian only posted an OBP of .318.

The win got L.E.A.D. Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Atmore Christian, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as L.E.A.D. Academy Lions challenge Munroe Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Munroe has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something L.E.A.D. Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Atmore Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 loss against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on the 6th.
