Softball Game Preview: Ygnacio Valley Wolves vs. Mt. Diablo Red Devils

Ygnacio Valley hasn't had much luck against Mt. Diablo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will challenge the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. Ygnacio Valley has given up an average of 23.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ygnacio Valley lost 21-3 to San Lorenzo on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo came up short against Las Lomas on Thursday, falling 33-4.

Mt. Diablo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leilani Sheperd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Sheperd has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Ashley Cornejo was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mt. Diablo's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Ygnacio Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Ygnacio Valley might still be hurting after the 18-3 loss they got from Mt. Diablo in their previous meeting on Friday. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
