Basketball Recap: Jac-Cen-Del Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tinley Enneking and Brooklyn Simon + How To Watch

Jac-Cen-Del had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it eight. They came up short against the Batesville Bulldogs, falling 57-35. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 54-14 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jac-Cen-Del's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Simon and Tinley Enneking. Simon posted 13 points and three steals, while Enneking scored 12 points. Simon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

As for Batesville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Batesville found their leader in sophomore Maggie Jelinek, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Jelinek. Another player making a difference was Leah Meyer, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jac-Cen-Del will challenge South Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Batesville, they will square off against Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
