Recap: Hackensack Comets vs. Kennedy Knights
The Hackensack Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 47-40 to Kennedy. Hackensack was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kennedy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Kennedy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was My'Shayla Clancy out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Clancy has scored at least 25% of Kennedy's points. Another player making a difference was Zahniya Castillo , who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Hackensack's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Hackensack will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Secaucus at 12:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Kennedy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on December 21st.
