Volleyball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

Monterey lost against Liberty back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Plainsmen fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1.

Emerson Satterfield paced Monterey's offense, picking up five kills. Satterfield got some help from Athaliah Rodriguez and her seven assists. Satterfield was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Liberty, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Monterey will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. The game will give the Plainsmen their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Liberty, they are taking a road trip to challenge West Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
