Softball Recap: Ann Sobrato Wins Going Away Against Leigh

Ann Sobrato lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Leigh, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Longhorns on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Longhorns back in April, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Amber Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoe Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Julia Carlsen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Ann Sobrato now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Leigh, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17-1.
