Softball Recap: Mark Keppel Takes a Loss

Mark Keppel was the 6-3 winner over Cerritos when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mark Keppel Aztecs fell just short of the Cerritos Dons by a score of 7-6 on Thursday.

Nevaeh Saldivar was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Avigail Navarro also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Mark Keppel's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cerritos, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mark Keppel will take on Garfield at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cerritos, they will face off against Bellflower at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cerritos is facing Bellflower at the right time seeing as Bellflower is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
