Football Recap: Ceres Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Ceres unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Hughson Huskies on Friday, falling 37-7. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Huskies are ranked 183rd).

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Adrian Carrillo, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Ceres will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McNair at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Hughson, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-21 win against Atwater on the 29th.
