Softball Game Preview: Canton Eagles vs. Spring Hill Panthers

For the second straight game, Canton will face off against Spring Hill. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Canton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Spring Hill as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Rylee Busby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kara Pride was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Peyton Goodson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Canton lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Canton pushed their record up to 19-6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
