Basketball Recap: Shepherd Piles Up the Points Against Roundup

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shepherd). They blew past the Roundup Panthers 75-24 on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Shepherd is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Roundup, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shepherd will host Park City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shepherd has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Roundup, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Joliet at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
