Basketball Recap: Hozho Academy Piles Up the Points Against Tse' Yi' Gai

Hozho Academy hadn't done well against Tse' Yi' Gai recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hozho Academy Wolves simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tse' Yi' Gai Dine Warriors 47-17. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 30 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hozho Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ariel Garcia, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Khloe Todecheenie, who scored 14 points.

The victory (which was Hozho Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.8 points per game. As for Tse' Yi' Gai, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Hozho Academy will take on Bosque in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tse' Yi' Gai, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Walatowa Charter at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
