Softball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Minutemen vs. Zion Christian Academy Eagles
Franklin Road Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They came up short against the Zion Christian Academy Eagles, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.
As for Zion Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Zion Christian Academy, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
For Zion Christian Academy's part, Marleigh McWilliams made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave McWilliams a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Zion Christian Academy let Bella Waller and Leighla Rains run wild.
