Softball Recap: Milwaukee Reagan Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Milwaukee Reagan dropped their record down to 12-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Dominican Knights by a score of 6-5. The Huskies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Larissa Michalak was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Milwaukee Reagan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Taylor's first of the season. Another was Brooke Scott, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

As for Dominican, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season.

On Dominican's side, Lily Weiler was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Weiler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milwaukee Reagan will square off against Riverside University/Meir at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dominican, they will challenge St. Catherine's at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Angels have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
