Hanover has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mechanicsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will welcome the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Hanover is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hanover's offense. They came up short against Midlothian on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Mechanicsville and Freeman, and Mechanicsville kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs skirted past the Mavericks 7-6. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Bailey Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Shaw, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Izzy Eubanks, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mechanicsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freeman only managed six hits.

Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Mechanicsville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Hanover took their win against Mechanicsville in their previous matchup last Wednesday by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
