Football Recap: Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Wins Going Away Against Shelton

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Shelton Bulldogs 41-20. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jordan Scoville went supernova, rushing for 141 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Shelton still got an impressive performance from Reilly Jensen, who rushed for 167 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Jensen also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending one pass.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Shelton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Medicine Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Shelton, they will square off against Parkview Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
