Soccer Recap: Mineola Takes a Loss

If Mineola was feeling good fresh off their 6-3 takedown of Chapel Hill last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mineola Yellowjackets came up short against the Van Vandals on Tuesday, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Yellowjackets were already down 5-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Gorge Zavala, who's now up to two this season.

Mineola's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Van, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Mineola has already played their next contest, a 6-1 victory against Grand Saline on the 14th. As for Van, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Lindale on the 14th.
