Baseball Recap: Smyrna Comes Up Short

Smyrna lost a heartbreaker to Salesianum when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Eagles came up short against the Sallies, falling 10-4. The Eagles have struggled against the Sallies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Smyrna's record now sits at 2-13. As for Salesianum, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Smyrna will head out to take on Cape Henlopen at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Salesianum, they will face off against William Penn at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
