Softball Recap: Lakewood Ranch's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Lakewood Ranch made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Braden River, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the Braden River Pirates on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Erin Hogan was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Kendal McCoy also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Lakewood Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lakewood Ranch moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Braden River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood Ranch will venture away from home to take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
