Basketball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

Sidney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Santa Anna Mountaineers and fell 74-38. The Eagles were down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Santa Anna was led to victory by Kamyn Hale and Dayla Ray. Hale went 11 of 21 on her way to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists, while Ray went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and three steals. The match was Hale's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Strickland, who posted four points and 12 boards.

Sidney's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Santa Anna, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Sidney has already played their next game (against Blanket), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Santa Anna didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-24 loss against May on the 14th.
