Strayhorn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-17 loss at the hands of the Independence Wildcats. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Strayhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Strayhorn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-2 loss against Byers on the 19th. As for Independence, they will take on Jackson Academy in a tournament on Friday. Independence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
