Volleyball Recap: Los Altos Comes Up Short

After flying high against Covina last Thursday, Los Altos came back down to earth. The Conquerors fell just short of the San Dimas Saints by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Conquerors have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Los Altos sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 19-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-5.

When it comes to explaining why Los Altos lost, don't look at Christopher Talavera. Despite the final result, he had 32 digs and two aces. Kaysin Daum Smith was another key player, getting ten digs.

Leading San Dimas to victory were Marlon Quintana and Abel Hagos. Quintana had 51 digs and three assists, while Hagos had 43 assists and 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Hagos a new career-high.

Los Altos' defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for San Dimas, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Los Altos nor San Dimas have any future games scheduled.
