While Big Bear might've come up empty on Tuesday, Jackson Wortham wasn't going down without a fight. Nobody could stop Wortham as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Big Bear's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-2 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Even though Wortham couldn't lead Big Bear over Hesperia Christian, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears have some work to do to even out the 1-6 series between these two since April of 2022, but a win here would be a good start.
