Recap: La Plata Warriors vs. Patuxent Panthers

On Friday, the La Plata Warriors's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over Patuxent. The victory made it back-to-back wins for La Plata.

La Plata found their leader in underclassman Aniyah Sisco, who scored 17 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Sisco has scored at least 25% of La Plata's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Parker, who scored ten points.

Patuxent's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ailish Fockler, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooke Domonkos, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

La Plata's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Patuxent, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

La Plata is on the road again on Friday and play against Great Mills at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. As for Patuxent, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Thomas Stone at 5:00 p.m. Thomas Stone presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Patuxent in Maryland (Thomas Stone is ranked 98th, while Patuxent is ranked 204th).
