Basketball Recap: Tipton Beats Taylor for Their Sixth Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Tipton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 41-31 win over the Taylor Titans on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on six straight.

Grady Carpenter was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards. His evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Peyton Auler also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Tipton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Despite the defeat, Taylor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keyshawn Galloway shot 54% from the field on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Hall, who posted six points.

Tipton's record is now 17-6. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Tipton will challenge Sheridan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sheridan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests. Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
